A Little About Me
I wrote my very first story at ten years old. Sure, it was in a Backstreet Boys journal, and each chapter was one page long, and it was no doubt riddled with misspelled words and incorrect grammar and plot holes, but I didn't care. My heart longed to share a vision, a dream, and all I needed was pen and paper.
As a teenager, I discovered online roleplaying, and my eyes were opened to an entirely new world of writing. I learned to collaborate with other writers to build new worlds and create compelling stories through character design. I've since honed my craft against the skill and talent of others, learning all that I can about the beauty and power of words. I also enjoy reading and reviewing books—in particular, I love reviewing ARCs sent by fellow writers in the LGBTQ+ community, because by doing so I can help bring visibility and traffic to their work. I fully believe representation is paramount to expanding our own understandings of one another, and bringing attention to our experiences is the first step.
My day job is in the world of human resources, customer service, and general business operations; this corporate experience has provided me with not only the know-how to craft the perfect email, but also the confidence to put my talents out there and show the world what I can do. I have been in the corporate world for over twelve years, and now that I am in my thirties, it's time for me to take that first step toward a career that I have always imagined having.
I currently live in Baltimore, Maryland with my partner and our rescue dog, Norbert.
“This is how you do it: you sit down at the keyboard and you put one word after another until it's done. It's that easy, and that hard.”
